SPRINGBOARD PROGRAM
Springboard is designed for first year members, as a tool for the chapter to activate new members, ensure that they have the opportunity to gain the benefits of membership, and are able to make a fully informed decision when it comes time to renew their membership. Members who successfully complete the one year program will be advanced to the level of 3rd Degree Jaycees.
In the Springboard program, participants must fill out and send in the Springboard Enrollment Form within the first 90 days of membership. To certify, chapters must complete the Springboard Certification Form after all requirements are achieved, obtain the chapter president's signature of approval, and submit to the State Program Manager or Membership Vice President.
DEGREES PROGRAM
The Degrees of Jaycees program is an activation program for our members as a guide for personal growth within each of our chapters. Each member completing the Degrees of Jaycees will have achieved the benefits of leadership training directly affecting the experience of other members.
There are ten degree levels divided into three phases in the Degrees of Jaycees. The three phases are:
Involvement: Covers the first three degrees and has been planned to provide newer Jaycees with opportunities to experience orientation, training, community awareness and sharing Jaycees.
Experience: Degrees four, five and six are designed to let Jaycees use their experiences from the first phases to develop skills in activation, action and recruiting.
Leadership: Covers the last four degrees and is meant to give participants the flexibility to exercise the leadership skills gained in the first two phases.
Because the Degrees of Jaycees is a leadership development process, participants must complete one degree at a time before working on the next degree level. There are no retroactive items. Any requirements achieved for degree cannot be used for achievement of another degree.
In the Degrees program, participants must certify the completion of each degree with the U.S. Junior Chamber of Commerce. To certify, chapters must enter the Degrees of Jaycees advancement certification after each degree achieved, obtain the chapter president's signature of approval, and submit to the State Program Manager or Membership Vice President.
