This was my first investigation with A.G.H.O.S.T. in June of 2002. We arrived at a private residence in Buckley Washington shortly before 9pm.
I thought that I would feel a bit weird entering another persons home, however the house had a very warm and comforting atmosphere. Once everyone set about their duties I spent a bit of time between Ross (President and founder of the group) and Patricia (Vice President) asking questions and getting a general idea of how a ghost investigation was conducted.
I gathered from the photos presented by the owners of the home and by the photos taken at the walkthrough in April 2002 by Patricia, that most of the activity seemed to be outside. Even though the rain was going back and forth from a slight drizzle to a medium downpour I spent a good portion of my time outside investigating the yard.
I was looking for items that might cause some kind of reflection. I was a bit skeptical of the "orbs" that were shown in the photos. There was a plastic Coca Cola clock on the wall outside of the kitchen window. There was also track lighting in the house that showed bright reflections on the windows. There were two wind chimes hanging from the trees on either side of the Arbor. Could the track lighting coming through the sliding glass door somehow bounce light off of one of the wind chimes? The camera lens is also made of glass. But would the orb appear so perfectly round? Raindrop? Not the drop itself but light reflecting/refracting off of it.
Was it possible that the "ecto" shots were just temperature changes around the trees? If it had been say 70 degrees maybe even 65 then it began to rain, the cold water touching the leaf could produce steam coming from the leaves. The deck, where some of the other shots were taken, is also wood. (similar to heat rising of off the road, you do not always see it)
The trees in the back yard as well as the landscape was considerably different than the last time Patricia was there. I kept returning to the site in front of the Arbor, this was my favorite spot in the yard, and I felt drawn to it. There was a marker there inscribed "Jerseys Place" with a picture of a small dog. (Later on I found out that the dog had passed away sometime between the last visit in April and our investigation in June)
I walked around the yard several more times after referring back to the pictures taken in April. There was one particular tree in one of the photos that I could not find in the yard.
I spoke with Rose, one of the owners, briefly asking her about the house and how long she had been in it as well as questions about the circles. Round circles had began appearing in her gravel. This was when she had told me that the circles started in the summer. (I had thought maybe Jersey, the dog was trying to let them know that he/she was still around, however that would not be the case if the circles were there for much longer) Rose told me that about 7 circles appeared before they raked them all over. She also told me about a sinkhole that appeared one day. We spoke briefly of Jerseys passing when I had asked her if her dog had ever acted strange in certain areas of the yard or house.
I also looked around the carport and front yard but found nothing unusual. I walked around to the back of the house when I saw Patricia taking photos in the direction of the arbor. She had a shot with "ecto" and "orbs" in it. I found these fascinating considering I was standing near enough her to be able to tell that there was no smoke or anything unusual in the area (at least not to the naked eye J)
The investigation moved inside, it was still raining outside and much of the group did not want to be out there. I found this amusing considering we live in an area that rains 6-9 months out of the year. No one brought rain gear? I understand that the equipment findings would have in question, but it would have be interesting to know if the sensitive had stronger feelings. (she went outside briefly but I did not see her by the arbor) It began to feel somewhat uncomfortable because two members of the group wanted to leave and thought that we have been there for far too long. The group finally settled and had a meeting about their findings. It is decided that Rick would set up S.P.E.C.T.R.E in the master bedroom. I believe that Charles has been running EVP on and off during the evening. The remainder of the group (Rick was upstairs, and Rose, Bill and their guests had joined us) met in the living room and discussed the findings further.
Roses thoughts or comments;
v She mentioned that she began to hear movement from upstairs possibly from the bathroom or hallway.
v She mentioned that since the last AGHOST visit she began receiving knocks on the front door.
v Felt as though it was a presence from the past.
v She mentioned a man on the staircase, but also said that the last house she lived in had a man on the staircase
v She said that she always tried to appear as though she is not scared.
Barbies Thoughts (Sensitive)
v Felt presence of an older woman, confusion feelings of sadness as if she was ripped off from the family milestones happening around her
v Felt an upset stomach. (Bill made a comment that Rose often has an upset stomach)
v Barbie felt (?) heard (?) the name Katie, Kaitlyn or Kathy. She could not give a clear name. But knew that it started with a K. She also said that this person was waiting for something big. (Rose mentioned later that she has a niece with a similar name, cannot remember which name though)
v Barbie felt the presence of an obnoxious man. (She mentioned this a couple of times during the evening, on both occasions I clearly heard the name "Kevin" being whispered and thought that Barbie was the one saying it. When I asked if anyone had said the name "Kevin" no one would claim that they had) ((Rose later told me that she has a nephew with the same name.))
The lights were dimmed and Ross walked around with his camera. (I am not sure if he was using infrared) He asked questions out into the air, hoping to draw a presence to us. Barbie continued to share some of her feelings with us. At one point during the evening Ross set up a glass globe on a stand with electricity that danced around inside. (I cannot remember the name of the item, but you can get them at radio shack, at this point in time I felt silly, I thought that at any moment a joint would be passed around) Anyway, I guess he read somewhere that "orbs" were attracted to this. I should also mention that Barbie made a comment seconds after my "silly" thought that there was someone in the room that felt as though this was all nonsense.
I do not think that the glass globe got a lot of activity but it would have been interesting to set it up outside. (Charles told me later on that week that it interfered with the EVP) Too bad we did not set it up in the laundry room where there also seemed to be some activity. S.P.E.C.T.R.E also showed a bit of activity. So there did seem to be some kind of presence in the house. I think that we would have gotten greater results if we had been able to move outside. I also think that any presence inside was different from the outside. Dana, a friend of Rose said that she has always been somewhat sensitive and Rose herself said that at her previous house she could feel things. (The man on the stairs) I get the impression that the outside presence does not come into the house. I have nothing to base it on just what I feel.
